Here’s My Story.

Loretta Turner, MA, CNP, ACC

I have been dedicated to the social impact sector since 2012, beginning my career as a yoga teacher partnering with grassroots nonprofits to offer self-care and healing practices to incarcerated women, cancer patients, and communities experiencing homelessness. Through this work, I witnessed both the power of healing, and the deep systemic challenges within the sector—challenges that left me, and so many others, under-resourced and unseen. This realization fueled my desire to understand the nonprofit sector more fully, leading me to earn a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Over the years, I explored different roles in fundraising, people management, and organizational strategy, searching for where I could make the most impact. In 2020, I found “my part” as a leadership coach. I founded Do Good Leadership Collective, a consultancy dedicated to helping nonprofit leaders create cultures of wellbeing. My coaching and consulting work blend traditional leadership models—like Adaptive Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and Appreciative Inquiry—with the intuitive skills I developed through yoga and meditation, using imagery, metaphor, and deep listening to guide transformational growth. At the heart of my work is a simple but powerful truth: I’ve turned my own challenges into bridges of care for others, ensuring that fewer leaders feel unseen, unheard, or undervalued in their work.

Some of my proudest achievements? Moving from New Jersey to San Diego nearly a decade ago in search of progressive community; cultivating a deep sense of self-love through my own spiritual practices; and bringing Do Good Leadership Collective to life. If you’re ready to lead with more care, clarity, and resilience, I’d love to support you on that journey.
